This role involves liaising with supportstaff, management, and external healthcare professionals in meetings, carereviews and via telephone and email.I also ensure in this role that the focus is around developing proactivestrategies and teach new skills based on understanding a person's needrather than reacting on the negative of challenging behaviours. Caring at a home for young people with a range of cognitive and physical disabilities, including traumatic brain injuries, strokes and neurone conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis. My role includes helping the residents with their everyday needs such as hygiene care, feeding and moving and handling within an intended aim of helping them develop their skills to live more independently.

Working with small groups of first year students at Newcastle University who are struggling to adapt to university life and helping them integrate into the student community. This is done by leading informal small group meetings, organising social events and keeping written checks on the students’ progress.

This role involved guiding groups of perspective students around Newcastle University, also being a part of question and answers sessions as well as talking to the students and parents about the university and the student lifestyle.

Within this role I was in charge of working on the till, preparing and cooking foods such as soups, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and other baked goods, setting and clearing tables in preparation for the customers.
