Kate Stevens is the Founder and CEO of Lila Luckie's, aka "The Best Little Dispensary in the Hudson Valley, New York." Born and raised in Texas, Kate graduated from The University of Texas, College of Liberal Arts, with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She moved to New York where she became the Regional Field Director of Organizing for America in the Hudson Valley. Quickly moving up the ranks, she went on to become the New York State Lead for the Presidential Inaugural Committee, and Deputy Campaign Manager for Michael Blake in the South Bronx for a seat in the New York State Assembly. Kate's experience in New York's political scene led her to the nonprofit sector, where she was the first state director hired at Organizing for Action, a 501(c)(4) issue advocacy organization. She ultimately found her home in the labor movement at the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA), where she became the Lead Program Representative and organizer, where she helped organize the largest non-union hospital in the Capital District, growing their union membership by over 2000 Registered Nurses. After working with the NYSNA for 5 years, Kate utilized her proven data-driven solutions to become the Lead Tech Organizer for The Office Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), leading Kickstarter, PBC to a successful union victory and becoming the first tech company in the US to become a fully unionized workplace. She ultimately helped found what would become OPEIU Tech Workers Union, Local 1010, a local dedicated to grassroots member-led campaigns run for, of, and by tech workers. With 12 years of combined experience in operating successful campaigns and organizing in the labor movement, Kate sought to enter cannabis in order to further impact New York's social equity, job opportunities, and education in her community in the Hudson Valley. She is passionate, driven, and eager to increase the number of women and minority-owned businesses in the cannabis industry, while being a thought-leader and advocate for women and minority-owned cannabis brands.
