My aim is to make everyone's day easier. Bringing together my experience as a graphic designer with problem solving skills from my training as an engineer, I analyse the "white spaces" and gaps in the business, and figure out how to fill these in.With a touch of organisational psychology, solutions are never implemented "top down" – instead, because they are clear, simple and well designed, colleagues adopt them because it's the easier choice.I've created an enquiries tracking system, a client relationship management platform, a means of identifying, managing and mitigating project risks; I've streamlined our onboarding processes, and developed a financial reporting and forecasting system. Starting by solving pain points in one office, these systems have expanded to include multiple offices. I developed these to provide visibility and transparency, while freeing up everyone's time to focus on what matters: delivering high quality sustainable design for our clients.

As Head of Brand for an international company, I set brand strategy and developed guidelines at an international level, and implemented “on the ground” with our employees, developing and delivering training.I managed and oversaw internal and external communications. I gave advice to the local and international boards on what messages should be communicated, as well as when and how, to our employees.To support collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strengthening of company culture, I built the our first intranet; gathering information from stakeholders around the business and developing the organisational structure for the content as well as implementation and roll out plans.

Connecting across all our offices and centralising information for the first time, I implemented a digital asset management system, setting the structure, migrating 200,000+ assets, and creating training for our employees.During the redevelopment of the company's website, I oversaw the external developers and copywriter, developed a strategy to balance content from our offices around the world. I also linked the website to our DAM, making it easy to update project information in one central location, reducing duplication.I also extended my responsibilities to managing the graphics team in the London office, hiring and training new team members.

I changed careers to become a graphic designer at a smaller engineering consultancy, adding a more creative aspect to the problem solving I still enjoyed.By applying my engineering knowledge and problem solving along with creative communication skills, I developed clear and beautiful illustrations of engineering concepts.Some key projects included managing the process for the company's monograph celebrating its 25th anniversary. Organising busy directors, ensuring content was completed on time, and we'd secured client and copyright permissions for imagery – all finished in time to have the books in hand for the anniversary date.

Joining as a graduate engineer and achieving chartership (CEng) with CIBSE before I left, I was the lead engineer on projects including the largest PassivHaus development in London.On all projects, my role as mechanical engineer extended to working with the design team to reduce the environmental impact of projects.
