I’m a passionate business communications professional with a commitment to global health and inclusive leadership and a history of working with community-driven, impactful charitable organizations. I believe that our stories and experiences have the power to bring about great change. I also believe that when we bring our collective voices together, we have the power to break down barriers, improve health outcomes and find solutions that affect real change.I’m currently the President and CEO of MitoCanada, Canada’s only registered health foundation dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals, families and caregivers with mitochondrial disease, where I lead strategic initiatives and drive organizational success. I’m no stranger to MitoCanada. As past Director of Program Development and interim CEO, I’m passionately motivated and inspired by the strength of the MitoCommunity and driven to build capacity to impact the lives of those living with mito.After my child was diagnosed at age 6 with a complex chronic illness, I made the move from for-profit to non-profit, using my experiences as a caregiver, business executive and philanthropist to support and engage communities and help improve the quality of life of patients and their families. I have extensive not-for-profit experience working for small charities and foundations, and am the founder of Robbie’s Rainbow, a registered children’s charity dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of children and families living with digestive disease. I’m also the co-founder of Dynamic Focus, former Vice President of the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation and Director of Research and Patient Programs.I sit on multiple patient engagement steering committees. I'm a patient-partner for the NEOPICS Cohort Study, a member of the Family Advisory Network at The Hospital for Sick Children and a founding member of the Roche Co-Creation Council.I bring a diverse skill set to the table, including expertise in building and leading teams, strategic planning, effective communication and community-building. As an active volunteer and community-oriented individual, I thrive in collaborative and innovative environments. In my downtime, you’ll find me in my element strolling the beach, running the trails or kayaking the open waters. I love to be outdoors. I’m also a devoted mom.
