Working in the fast paced environment of remote OptiGene RT-LAMP assay using RNA extraction format. In this role I was able to work in a small remote laboratory with highly specialised equipment in order to process 200-250 samples a day and ensure that the results were delivered to the public in a timely and accurate manner. The role meant that I had to be extremely flexible in going to different sites everyday and ensuring that the laboratory was suitably equipped. The role meant that I had to be extremely flexible in going to different sites everyday and ensuring that the laboratory was suitably equipped. I was also able to work in an administrative role helping to ensure that all staff absences were covered and that teams were able to be deployed as they were needed at very short notice. I was in charge of ensuring that all the necessary compliance certificates for health and safety and job specific training for each member of staff and management were collected and stored appropriately as per company policy and national GDPR guidelines. There was also some scope within my administrative role to assist the management with the processing of the results and releasing them to the public and communicating with the staff on the ground in order to provide specific technical support to them in the field.
