About Kate Whitbred

I am currently a rising senior at the Ohio State University, majoring in economics. I am interested in Applied Microeconomics research and intend on pursuing a PhD in economics or public policy in the future. I am also interested in issues related to the LGBTQ+ community, including disparities in education, health and labor market outcomes. I am currently working on a senior thesis on differences in college major choices by sexuality. In my position at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, I am currently working on comparing national migration datasets from multiple sources including the ACS, CPS, IRS and USPS. Throughout my research experiences, I have gained experience in data cleaning, analysis and visualization in multiple languages. I have experience in R, Stata and SAS, and I am currently learning SQL.
