Project Management Consultant

• Provide flexible support to drive and deliver single source and competed bids within the agreed Business and Customer timelines. • Engage with customers, partners and delivery teams to develop technical solutions and statements of work.• Identify resources, timelines, dependencies, exclusions and risks.•Develop effective relationships and communications with all internal stakeholders, i.e. finance, commercial and the delivery teams to ensure successful delivery.• Apply project governance (Stage Gates) to ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements.

• Maintained the teams’ technical capability plan and resourced staff to projects.• Effectively translated customer strategic requirement into small work packages to ensure all team members (technical and non-technical) had a good understanding of the requirement, remained motivated and driven to deliver efficiently, effectively and safely to both MoD and Home Office (HO) customers.• Contributed technically to the User Requirement documentation for both the Integrated Biological Detection System (IBDS) Initial Operating Capability (IOC) and the Full Operational Capability (FOC).

• As the primary point of responsibility and accountability successfully managed multiple concurrent science and technology projects in a PRINCE2/MSP environment for both the MoD and OGDs, from bidding, throughout execution to closure.• Managed/mitigated the identified project risks (encompassing Technical, Commercial, Health and Safety, Environmental and Security aspects) to Dstl.• Maintained/managed all internal and external communication, including tasking and alining the project team, agreeing and leading on project change.• Planned, monitored and reported progress, (facilitated quarterly customer reviews) delivered output (final reports) and ensured effective payment. • Updated Department Portfolio Managers and Programme Leaders at departmental quarterly risk and finance reviews.• Lead the training and mentoring of a new starter to confidently apply project management principles and ensure that the control documentation was established and maintained from bidding through to delivery.
