This position works in a team environment with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Extension Council and staff to provide day to day leadership and management for Johnson County 4-H and K-12 outreach programs, positive youth development efforts, and to provide education in the 4-H priority topics. The position requires extensive knowledge of ISUEO, 4-H, skills in written and oral communication, ability to deliver programs on a wide variety of topics, dependability and confidentiality.• Managed annual 4-H budget of $20,000 ensuring line-items stayed within allocated resources• Managed over 100 volunteers, ensured proper training and background screening was completed• Managed crisis management and risk management of volunteers and families• Facilitated 4honline and Fair Entry online database registrations and customer service to families• Assisted and planned annual statewide staff professional development conference• Organized, planned, and executed various trainings, ceremonies, county fair, workshops, and educational opportunities• Organized and assisted at youth outreach and marketing events• Implemented consistent communication with volunteers, families, and staff• Managed current members’ needs in a professional and timely matter• Increased awareness of 4-H in Linn County – 4.6% growth in one year – large impact for program• Enabled summer assistant to complete projects in a professional and timely matter
