Oversaw the alternative to incarceration programming and services at the Red Hook Community Justice Center. Led strategic planning, operational development, and community partnerships in order to create meaningful treatment options for court-involved clients. Clinically supervised and managed team of 10 social workers, case managers, and intake staff working with court mandated clients.

Designed, implemented, and directed a start-up juvenile justice/mental health alternative to detention project, Bronx Futures, through the Center for Court Innovation. Founding organizer of RISE, a grassroots collective of NYC-area social workers and activists who organize against institutional oppression. Our work focuses on education and community-building within the social work profession, through workshops, social events, and an annual conference.

Created and managed the Fresh Start program, a pilot after-school program for at-risk high school freshmen at Murry Bergtraum High School (MBHS). Developed youth-centered workshop curriculum, provided case management, and crisis counseling to students. Trained and supervised MBHS senior level students as mentors for participating freshmen.

Managed the daily operations of Mary’s Mount Manor, a therapeutic group home for adolescent girls age 13-17 years old with significant mental health issues and histories of trauma. On-call 24/7, provided crisis counseling and suicide assessment of clients as needed. Managed staff of 18 youth counselors and case managers.
