Nominated by the U.S. Embassy Dublin to represent Ireland on the 'Women in Politics and Social Sectors Program', on the International Visitor Leadership Program, the premier professional exchange program of the US Department of State.The project ran for 3 weeks, visiting 4 States, 5 Cities, meeting 48 organisations over 30 meetings with 17 Countries from around the world on the State program.The project examined the U.S. experience in supporting women's contributions to the workplace and public life. During the program we examined the private sector and local, state and federal governments initiatives and programs that encourage women's political participation and representation in public life. We explored and evaluated public and private sector strategies to increase women's access to education, economic opportunities and health care.
