One of five interns in the Path to Power Program. Only intern in the communications department. Primary responsibilities included reading and tracking news articles that mentioned Planned Parenthood and/or reproductive rights, creating content for PPNCS emails and social media, generally keeping a pulse on the news and how Planned Parenthood was being talked about. Attended specialized training regarding advocacy and outreach work, which entailed weekly shifts of door-knocking, event panning/hosting, and other such outreach.

Full-time summer intern in the St. Paul office of Senator Tina Smith’s re-election campaign. Primary responsibilities included serving as Senator Smith’s photographer and video editor at various campaign events with my photos and videos being used in several of her social media postings. Also participated in a variety of outreach activities including calling donors and door knocking. In-office activities included data entry, research, creating content to be posted in Senator Smith’s Twitter account, and transcribing speeches.
