I completed my Anaesthetic Specialty training in July 2020 and entered onto the General Medical Council Specialist Register in the UK. I worked as a Consultant Anaesthetist and Clinical Lead for Realistic Medicine in NHS Highland prior to commencing a role as a medicolegal adviser. In 2019 I completed the prestigious year-long Scottish Clinical Leadership Fellowship with the Scottish Government and Royal College of Anaesthetists which allowed me to develop my own leadership and management skills through experiential learning. I have also completed a professional qualification in Service Design and combine this learning with my experience in quality improvement methodology when undertaking improvement projects and addressing challenges in the workplace. I have worked as an Educational Lead for the Scottish Quality and Safety Fellowship, NHS Education Scotland, developing and delivering the service design curriculum. This role involved creating the educational content and supporting Lead-level International Health care professionals to grow their skills across the domains of human factors, QI, service design and leadership as well as putting these skills into practice within their own workplace. I have previously worked as a professional advisor to the Scottish Ombudsman and have experience writing professional questions in Anaesthesia for Pearson Vue.
