Once upon a time…I used to be a total workaholic, and I thought it was okay because I was doing "mindful" work. I was managing editor for a popular yoga magazine, running my private wellness & massage practice, and running myself into the ground doing it.I felt like if I was going to make a difference in the world with my work, be successful, and be a good mom, how I wanted (and needed) to feel should come second. What I learned the hard way is that this is 100% unsustainable, unhealthy, unproductive—and it’s also 100% untrue.Self-care is the fundamental practice of nurturing your soul.It’s not the end-of-the-day treat; it’s the rocket fuel that keeps you rocking to GET everything done without burning out in the process.99% of what you read about self-care omits the “self” piece, and gives you another list of “shoulds” to deal with. I’m the 1% who will teach you what actually works.
