As assistant editor for Tripwire I manage and execute all aspects of design and production for the full issues and the pamphlet series.

The Segue Foundation’s publishing platform, Roof Books, has been at the forefront of innovative writing since 1976.

At Dogpark Collective I manage all aspects of design and production, from developing our house style and designing interiors and covers, to delegating work to our assistant, letterpress printing our covers, and prepping the files for and interfacing with our interior printing vendor. We are a small poetry press highlighting innovative and historical work from poets in the Bay Area and beyond, with a special focus in under-recognized writers. As Communications Coordinator I ensured that the all of the Alumnae Association's communications to its constituents, in the form of email newsletters, website copy, physical mailings, and Mills Quarterly magazine content, were engaging, relevant, accurate, and in a concise and coherent voice. I also worked with Career Services managing the MillsConnect networking platform and with Admissions spearheading an alumnae volunteer student recruitment program.

My responsibilities at Adobe (on the Typekit team, now Adobe Fonts) included all the typical administrative tasks: managing calendars, taking meeting minutes, managing team events, etc. Additionally, I incorporated my typographic and design experience by working on small marketing design jobs, assisting type designers & writers with research, and synthesizing & presenting customer market research to the team.

Over two years at Letterform Archive I transformed a Potrero Hill loft from a living space to a non-profit center for education and community in the letter arts and graphic design: from purchasing supplies and tracking expenses to arranging the space and building equipment and furniture, and coordinating public events to get the word out and get people excited. As the first employee and primary host, during my tenure I cultivated a deep and intimate knowledge of this unique collection. I stewarded its over 30,000 items to more than 1500 visitors: design/print/book art students from area schools (CCA, SFAI, Mills, SF State, The Art Institute), design teams from major companies (Facebook, Apple, Airbnb, Pinterest, Twitter), and countless individual designers, artists, educators, calligraphers, typographers, and members of the general public.I also developed teaching strategies to train our staff in hosting visits and developed a database of collection item talking points that was used to train staff well beyond my tenure. My proudest contribution to Letterform Archive, though, is my co-curation of its very first public exhibition, Without Type: the Dynamism of Handmade Letters, which opened at the San Francisco Center for the Book in January 2016. As teaching fellow I taught The Book in an Edition, a multi-level book art class focused on producing books in editions of three or more. Students ranged in experience from absolute beginners to more experienced grad student printers and binders. The class included training students on letterpress and binding basics, as well as some more advanced and experimental practices; lecturing on artists' books concepts, artists, and practices, as well as other adjacent and influencing time-based… Show more As teaching fellow I taught The Book in an Edition, a multi-level book art class focused on producing books in editions of three or more. Students ranged in experience from absolute beginners to more experienced grad student printers and binders. The class included training students on letterpress and binding basics, as well as some more advanced and experimental practices; lecturing on artists' books concepts, artists, and practices, as well as other adjacent and influencing time-based art forms such as video and performance; leading seminar conversations on class readings, and leading peer critiques of student projects. Students produced 3 small editions over the course of the semester as well as a handful of smaller print projects. My teaching approach is quite interdisciplinary, drawing inspiration from the history of book production as well as more surprising sources outside of typography and book design. Practically this involves a blend of lecture and presentation, group discussion, hands-on studio class time, direct one-on-one training sessions, and collaborative activities wherein students share their knowledge and skills with one another. With fellow poet Brittany Billymeyer-Finn, I co-taught an 8-week elective writing course to high school students focused on experimental writing. The course was titled "What the *%#^ is Ekphrasis??" and engaged with various historically avant garde writing approaches. We generated a series of prompts and activities, many of them collaborative, to get students thinking about innovation in their own creative writing.

In my second year as a graduate student in Mills College's English department I coordinated the public reading series, Contemporary Writers Series, which brings celebrated writers in poetry, fiction, and non-fiction to campus. For my first year at The Place for Writers, the grad student programming arm of the Mills College English Department, I developed and implemented a professional development program for poetry creative writing grad students. This program involved pairing students with working Bay Area poets to 1) introduce them to the wider scene of writers in the area and 2) give them a sense of what their writing life could look like post-graduate school.
