I am proud to be an active member of the Century College Foundation Board whose primary charge is to raise money for scholarships. Century serves many needy students looking for a hand up not a handout.

I have been involved in the congregational life of WBUUC for 20 years. I have served on a variety of committees including chair of Long Range Planning leading up to the addition and expansion of the Church. I later served as Chair of the Transition Committee to keep the church operating while overseeing a major renovation and addition.

Life in Washington County -- as an advocate for disadvantaged and disabled students, as a supporter of green technology, as an active leader in the community – has taught me what is most important about public service. It is to actively serve and represent the residents of the district. That is why I'm running for office!

While on the Board I worked to change the culture of mediocrity to one of excellence in student achievement. I am also proud to have been on the Board when we negotiated to buy a track of land near the High School where we are currently building the new elementary school. It was an old dump that we cleaned up and have put to great use as open space, sports.
