About Kate Eaton
I have dedicated over 15 years of my professional life to fundraising in the nonprofit sector, securing individual major gifts, foundation grants along with the creation of mid-size cultivation events for organizations including Habitat for Humanity International, The University of Colorado Foundation, Mercy Housing and Food For The Poor and The New World Symphony. I am drawn to bringing together people who want to make a difference with organizations that have the capacity to drive significant change through transformational gifts. Key drivers of success for me have been extensive experience in fundraising and knowledge of the field + a background in sales, marketing, and business development + a strategic outlook + major doses of enthusiasm, creativity, and empathy. Together, they have provided me the tools and the drive to advance the goals of the organizations I have been privileged to work for.In my current position at New World Symphony, I raised a $50,000 gift from a lapsed donor in my first five months. At Food for the Poor, when Covid-19 made in-person travel too risky, I organized a series of virtual tours of our assistance projects that exceeded expectations in donations received including a gift of $450,000. I was able to launch the first individual major gifts program at the Children’s Bereavement Center in Miami, providing an important new revenue stream for the organization. At Mercy Housing, I worked to build an outstanding fundraising team and led a major gift solicitation campaign that surpassed its $2 million goal. At Habitat for Humanity International, I closed international gifts of more than $4.5 million. Fundraising and the nonprofit world have been central to my professional life, but to keep my creative edge, replenish and nurture my spiritual energies, and give expression to my passion for people, music, and culture from all over the world, in 2010 I created Mishkhah. Mishkhah is an innovative organization that showcases new worship experiences by engaging the senses through music, the arts, movement, and interaction.
