As Major Gifts and Emerging Markets officer, I supported Food for the Poor’s programs to alleviate poverty in 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America--providing food and nutrition security, housing, healthcare, education, fresh water, emergency relief, and micro-enterprise solutions, among other deliverables. The position entails engaging existing donors and cultivating potential donors. A few highlights: --To support a sustainable community development initiative in Honduras, I developed a plan to raise individual major gifts in collaboration with seven major gifts officers which resulted in raising $900,000 goal in seven months. --When COVID-19 made in-person travel too risky, I created and organized a series of virtual tours of our assistance projects to give donors an inside look at the needs and our capabilities to provide critically needed assistance. The virtual tours have exceeded expectations in donations pledged and received.

I founded and lead this pioneering organization that showcases new worship experiences, reinvigorating traditional models by engaging the senses through music, the arts, movement, and interaction.Among other milestones, I:• Guided 11 churches across the U.S. in developing innovative weekly evening worship services and brought over 400 experiences for congregations, national conventions, prayer services, and seminaries to fruition.• Arranged more than 150 traditional hymns, prayers, and original music and recorded three music CDs.• Created and produced a high-definition video of liturgical services that enables the viewer to step into the worship experience in a tangible and transformative way.

As Director of Development, I:• Developed and launched the Center’s first individual major gifts program, bringing a new revenue stream online. • Created major gifts support materials with templates for future reports and tools to steward donor relationships and encourage continued giving.• Led the efforts that secured $170,000 from two donors within the first six months on the job through first-time, in-person “asks.”

As Director of Development, I was responsible for recruiting, training, and managing the board of advisors to support curriculum and fund development for a $1.5 million Chair in Public History and Preservation. I planned and managed two major annual fundraising events and stewarded endowments totaling $47,000. In this position I:• Researched and developed grants in excess of $2 million and identified, cultivated, and solicited over 50 major gift prospects.• Managed fundraising goals for the College of Arts and Sciences, achieving a 62% increase in funds raised for fiscal years 1998–99.
