Hi! I am a Learning Assistant at Weston high school, a graduate student at University of Massachusetts Boston, a recent History M.A. graduate, and a former textbook editor. I would like to eventually have a role as a secondary school teacher in History, English, or Special Education. In late 2021, I re-assessed my career path and left textbook publishing to finish my History M.A. thesis, try a new education-related role, and take education-related courses. Since then, I've gained my provisional licensure and held paraprofessional roles to gain real-world experience in the field. In addition to my paraprofessional experience, I am open to occasional editing-related projects. I have strong editing skills in content development, editing, textbook permissions, and event planning. I love helping authors to develop books. My experience is in educational textbooks but I have transferrable skills in content editing, image permissions, product development, and author management. The areas of content that I understand best are History and social studies, English literature, film, art, the social sciences, politics, news content and more. I am open to learning about other content areas as well. Dedication, curiosity, persistence, a bias toward action, and a team orientation are the chief qualities that I strive to use every day. I love classroom learning -- and both formal and informal opportunities to learn. I've also enjoyed taking opportunities to learn about art, photography, design, and literature.I am from Rhode Island originally. I spend my free time with my family. My ideal day includes watching a movie or a play, reading a great book in a cafe, taking a hike or city walk, and trying out a new restaurant. I am also hoping to get back to playing more tennis this year!
