About Katie Marty

I am passionate about the positive economic and social impact of cooperatives and the possibility they offer to create a more equitable, just world. My introduction to co-ops was in supporting an agriculture co-op which formed to equitably share resources and decision making power. Seeing the potential of the cooperative model in action, I founded Aynah, a nonprofit introducing young people to cooperatives through experiential learning. Since then, I have continued to educate about and support the cooperative movement through my work at Mississippi Market Food Co-op (consumer cooperative) and Collectivity (multi-stakeholder cooperative). Currently, I am supporting an effort to relaunch CoMinnesota, uniting education, networking, and resources for co-ops across Minnesota. I am also passionate about minimizing waste, hiking (ideally daily), and eating good bread.
