Associate Director of Clinical Training at Abiomed, a Johnson & Johnson MedTech company and the makers of Impella, overseeing nursing education, employee training, educational resources, and advanced specialty education. Previous experience as a Registered Nurse at the Johns Hopkins Hospital - with extensive ICU experience in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CCU) and procedural nursing experience in the Cardiovascular Interventional Laboratory (CVIL). Also a Biocontainment Unit (BCU) response team member, Medical Reserve Corps volunteer, and former EMT. Additional experience as charge nurse, preceptor, nurse educator, and committee chair. Professional interests include: cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine and trauma, pre-hospital care and critical care transport, palliative care, midwifery, neonatology, adolescent health, public health, international health, disaster preparedness and response, and nursing/medical education. Graduated from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing with a BSN degree. Prior, graduated from the Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences with a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Human Physiology with minors in Public Health and Sociology. In my free time I enjoy traveling, scuba diving, volunteering, reading, yoga, and hiking. I have a personal goal of traveling to 50 countries by age 50, and so far have traveled to 37.
