Vice President Board Of DirectorsYwca Australia Mar 2015 - Jun 2018AustraliaIn my role at YWCA Australia I was a key leader involved in the creation of a strategy for YWCAs in Australia to merge, and then the successful implementation of that strategy. As Vice President of YWCA Australia, the organisation that would ultimately receive the assets of 8 other organisations, I played a central role in this project's success (along with many incredible women). In particular, I played a unique role assisting the 9 participating organisations to understand and navigate complex legal decisions around implementing a merger. I secured pro bono legal resources for organisations across the network, including working to bring on board Norton Rose Fulbright who agreed to make one of the most substantial pro bono legal contributions in Australian history by providing legal services to craft and implement a scheme of arrangement to merge the 9 participating organisations. With my expertise in not-for-profit governance, I assisted YWCA Australia to manage its complex governance obligations during this time of change, balancing current and future opportunities and risks. The merger was successfully implemented on 1 June 2018, and on this day I stepped down from my role as Vice President. -
