I am also available to provide supervision and mentoring for professionals wishing to increase their knowledge in this practice area.For presentations of anxiety disorders, externalising behavioural presentations and more complex presentation of autism including autistic girls and women, values based cognitive therapy and play therapy can be helpful. With 16 years of working with children, adolescents and families leading to knowledge and passion for positive psychology interventions, mindfulness based cognitive therapy, and a strong understanding of the importance of an affirming neurodiversity practice; clients and parents can be assured of feeling understood and supported.My journey from a child and adolescent clinical psychologist in acute mental health settings has broadened to understanding that those with an identified disability, frequently cannot access the level or frequency of mental health services that is required. Autistic children and adults are at a significantly higher risk of associated mental health diagnoses. Hence a passion for working with this group of clients evolved. My private practice is now nearly entirely made up of this client group due to the demand in this area. Side by Side Psychology is a niche private practice for children, teens and adults that identify as being Autistic or Neurodivergent. In this role my practice provides evidence based therapy for clients with identified mental health disorders in individual and group settings. The therapists works collaboratively with families, educators and community staff to ensure the best outcomes for the client. Group therapy programs are also offered including: The Zones of Regulation, the STAMP Explorers, Exploring CTB for Anxiety, Westmead Feelings Program and our own Summer Starters Group (for new school starters) and social-emotional groups.
