Provide operational oversight of all aspects of day-to-day operations and coordinate strategic implementation of the USAID Climate Adaptation Support Activity (CASA), a five-year project implemented by Tetra Tech to support effective climate adaptation mainstreaming, programming, and scaling at USAID to effect meaningful change. Manage technical oversight of specific climate adaptation learning, facilitation, and convening activities funded by USAID in East Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Support the project team on technical service delivery, activity workflows, progress tracking, knowledge management, contract management, financial oversight, and client coordination.

Launched a program management consulting practice providing expertise on private sector engagement, impact investment, and strategic partnerships to maximize development impact and accelerate economic growth for vulnerable communities. Work included strategic recommendations for an international initiative supporting perennial grant systems research and adoption for The Land Institute; development of an evaluation tool for investment opportunities across agricultural value chains for UN GAIN; analysis of strategies to accelerate women’s digital financial inclusion in agricultural and manufacturing sectors for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; evaluation of USAID Partnering for Innovation’s portfolio of investments in seeds and traceability software worldwide and resulting funding recommendations for future USAID investments.

Designed and launched the Development Practitioner’s Labs I & II, a year-long sequence of two required 3-credit courses using collaborative activities, real-world case studies, ethical discussions, and guest practitioners from the field to provide MPA students in international development with the critical skills needed to achieve real impact in development programs. Both courses were designed using a critical learning framework that includes a deeper consideration of equity, ethics, and power in the application of key development tools from stakeholder needs assignment and problem analysis to effective program design, budgeting, and evaluation frameworks.

Managed a 12-person team implementing USAID’s Partnering for Innovation program, a ground-breaking high-profile program funding impact investment in private sector grantees to develop innovative technology to transform the lives of more than 1M people living in poverty worldwide. Work included managing the program’s $72M grant portfolio, including evaluating proposals, selecting grantees, negotiating activities, reviewing agreements, verifying impact, reporting results; collaborating directly with program grantees to plan activities, negotiate budgets, assess organizational capacity, and identify strategies and local resources for addressing gaps; monitoring grant performance through analysis of grantee data to ensure maximum impact, and publicly documented and shared resulting best practices and lessons learned; and developing a comprehensive knowledge-based guide to build capacity for development practitioners on selecting, negotiating, and managing effective private sector partnerships.

Provided direct financial, operational, and administrative support to two multi-million-dollar field projects contracted on behalf of USAID to improve yields and increase incomes for 200,000 smallholder farmers in Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Also delivered in-house meeting and strategic planning facilitation for other company departments, including a two-day management training for field staff in Tanzania, a week-long training conference for the company’s worldwide M&E staff, and program design sessions for the launch of Fintrac University, the company’s online knowledge management platform.

Led the New Farmer Development Project, a 4-person team providing business training, market opportunities, and technical assistance to 100 immigrant farmers starting family farm businesses, and strengthened a fledgling organization into one of the leading immigrant farming projects in the country.

Wrote funding requests, proposals, and reports to major individual donors for multi-million dollar programs like Bronx Green-Up, the International Plant Science Center, and the Living Collections.

Reviewed and recommended grant applications, project proposals, annual budgets, and work plans from 30 international youth-serving partners in IYF's global network of organizations.

Partnered with Trickle Up Program to teach business skills to women, seniors, and indigenous farmers and facilitate the start of more than 30 local businesses, including an organic produce cooperative.
