My husband and I started Smiling Samoyed Brewery in November 2012 and began brewing in August 2013. The quality of our beer has always been our highest priority and we personally brewed each batch of beer until we employed our first brewer in 2018. We built the business up from the two of us to a team nearing 30 as at June 2022. As Pack Leader I have worked in every aspect of the business, grown that area and then recruited to 'replace' myself. This has included front of house, kitchen and sales. My current role includes overall responsibility for the brewery business, expanding tourism potential of the business, financial management, human resources, development of policies and procedures, compliance obligations and administration.

I worked in the litigation team at Wallmans with a focus on negligence claims against local councils. I was also involved in personal injury litigation including medical negligence. I was responsible for the day to day conduct of matters including investigation of claims, meeting and interviewing witnesses, briefing experts and counsel, communication with our client and the plaintiff or their representative, drafting of Court documents, negotiating settlement of claims (in person or via correspondence) and appearing at Court hearings.

Adelaide

As a member of the insurance litigation team I managed a wide range of insurance claims. My main focus was on personal injury litigation including motor vehicle accidents. I also managed a portfolio of matters for the Motor Accident Commission in relation to recovery of debts from drivers who had breached the compulsory third party policy of insurance. This often involved dealing with unrepresented drivers/defendants and negotiating settlement of the claims against them.

I was employed in the compulsory third party claims team at Sparke Helmore and had a portfolio of claims that I managed. My role included reviewing all correspondence on file, providing advice to the client, recommending and arranging further investigations for both liability and quantum, drafting Court documents, recommending quantum and liability ranges for negotiations, negotiating settlements in person and via correspondence and appearing at Court hearings.

Adelaide

I managed a portfolio of compulsory third party personal injury claims with an estimate in excess of $250,000 or where liability and quantum were complex. I also managed a portfolio of claims relating to accidents that occurred in New South Wales which operated under a different legislative regime. This role involved communication with a wide range of people including unrepresented plaintiffs, dependents of motor vehicle accident victims and solicitors both for the plaintiff and from our panel of defendant solicitors.
