I worked as a lawyer within the field of insurance/litigation for 10 years prior to embarking into the world of self-employment. I was proud to be an elected member of the Law Society Council and to serve on the costs, accident compensation, alternative dispute resolution and aboriginal issues committees at various times. I was also delighted to serve as a Council representative on the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice Committee. My husband and I started Smiling Samoyed Brewery at Myponga in November 2012. Production began on our 12HL brew house in August 2013. We produce a range of beers including Kolsch, 12 Paws (Pale Ale), IPA and Dark. We also brew seasonal and one-off batches of beer. Our beers have been critically acclaimed with our Dark Ale being awarded Most Outstanding Beer in Show at the Royal Adelaide Beer and Cider Awards in 2015, 2016 and 2019. In 2018 we were awarded Champion Small Brewery at the Royal Adelaide Beer and Cider Awards and achieved 2 Gold Medals for our beers (13 Gold Medals were awarded between 252 entries!). I am a board member of the Food and Beverage Development Fund and Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism and actively support, encourage and collaborate with other small businesses in our area.
