I love to lead, and to lead big change. It’s part of my DNA, so focusing on C-level roles in transformational companies where I can provide the leadership, strategic insight, and technical understanding required to scale successfully is my dream space. I work with founders, boards, financiers/private equity investors, and C-suite executives to frame and execute strategic growth plans. I add the most value in organizations who are looking for transformation, and in cultures who care about both the customer and the employee in delivering exceptional results. My unconventional career path looks strange, I know. Each of my choices, however, has been deliberate, focused on adding another important building block to round out my leadership tool kit. Problem solving; change management, brand and general management; building high performance teams, scaling rapid growth technology organizations, artificial intelligence, etc. — these are some key areas I’ve focused on to continually improve my ability to successfully lead and build businesses. My past experience serves as a strong foundation for my work in leading complex business change. I was schooled in engineering (Queens University), classically trained in CPG operations, brand management and leadership (P&G), and have over 15 years’ experience in scaling rapid growth tech based start-ups (Canada and the U.S.). Since returning to Canada I’ve helped scale growing tech companies including STI Technologies (health tech; acquired in 2017), Wattpad (media/entertainment; acquired 2021), and Viva Naturals (ecommerce).More recently I’ve taken some time to build my expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and its strategic application to business. Aside from research I conduct on my own, I recently received my certificate in “Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy” from MIT Sloan and CSAIL. My goal is to continue to build my skills and to work in companies who are in need of a leader to navigate the organizational challenges of scaling, particularly with priority on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to further digital transformation. I also enjoy applying my technical and leadership skills to volunteering in community organizations including the Red Cross Marketing Advisory Board, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, and Camp 1, an organization helping graduating engineers transition to their careers. I love spinning, traveling (yes, pre-covid), and walking (yes, new found hobby during covid).
