As a social media consultant for one of the top real estate groups in the area, I handle elements such as marketing and public outreach. What makes this company (any my position) special is the fact that the true focus of our company is improving the lives of those who choose to use our services.

I have tutored in several subjects, including English, standardized test preparation, and Spanish. Skills taught included critical reading, fluid writing, language comprehension, test taking strategies, and vocabulary expansion.

I was responsible for pitching ideas, gathering information, and turning in two plus stories a week. I also handled the SGA Beat, so I covered any story that came up that had to do with the Student Government Association on the UGA campus. Through this position, I honed my writing skills, developed strong interpersonal communication, and lost all sense of fear when it comes to talking to new people. I also had the opportunity to encounter several successful, inspirational members of the Athens community.

My particular responsibilities included everything from helping the girls adjust to being away from their parents to helping them decide the sorts of things that they want to focus on throughout the three and a half weeks. I was also trained to keep a level head during crisis situations like weather catastrophes, as well as trained in both CPR and First Aid Training. Other job requirements included designing events that would help the girls have fun while at camp. Some examples of events that I came up with are Princess Diaries Sleepover party and spa night, both very appropriate for the age group with which I was working. As fun as all of that was, though, what my job really came down to, though, is the camp’s motto: “The other fellow first.” I have spent the last four summers of my life putting the needs of others before my own, showing compassion and dedication, even when I was exhausted or stressed. That being said, I also had to fill out weekly reports on the campers and make sure that I got all of my summer work done, too, so I had to exercise strong time-management to get everything done.
