The Guild of St George is an educational charity, founded in 1871 by the Victorian art and social critic, John Ruskin, devoted to the arts, crafts and the rural economy. The Big Draw sees, 'drawing' as being not just a tool for illustrators, cartoonists, painters etc but as also a vital skill for many careers in the Creative Industries, eg gaming, film, 3D modelling, animation, architecture, software design etc. Equally, 'drawing' is an essential tool across other sectors and Industry, physicists, engineers, anatomists, surgeons etc.The charity leads a diversified programme encompassing advocacy, empowerment and engagement, and is the founder and driving force behind The Big Draw Festival – the world’s biggest celebration of drawing.
