During the global COVID-19 pandemic, I was redeployed from the Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development to the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (Department of Health) to provide the following support:-Prepare and distribute twice-daily briefings for the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH), the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (OCMOH) staff and Health Emergency Operations Centre (HEOC) staff;-Provide Human Resources and IT support to the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health (OCMOH), including onboarding new staff, issuing electronic devices, and providing technical support on platforms Skype and Zoom; -Provide general support to the Executive Director of Public Health.

As a Parliamentary Editor, I produced and edited transcripts from audio recordings, which involved applying Hansard styles and formats, undertaking research to verify quotations and other details, and editing for grammar, form, and content. I attended daily sittings and committee meetings of the Legislative Assembly to operate sound and recording equipment, compile logs of proceedings, and gather information and documentation. Having worked in this position for 2.5 years demonstrates superior knowledge of researching, editing and understanding of oral and written statements in both English and French.

As a component of my Master of Arts program, I worked as an Assistant Communications Officer in the Communications branch of Fisheries and Oceans Canada in St. John’s, NL. This experience included developing and implementing communications products such as Ministerial event proposals, news releases, media lines and event scenarios. I also monitored traditional and social media and prepared briefing materials for the Director of Communications with regard to fishing related activities and news in the Newfoundland and Labrador region.
