I have been a Special Education Teacher at School District Of Monroe for over two years, where I create engaging and inclusive learning experiences for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities. With a background and training as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) I apply my skills and experience to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of my students.My passion for empowering diverse learners stems from my previous roles as a Special Education Teacher at Platteville High School and a Camp Director at Wisconsin Badger Camp. In these positions, I taught cross-categorical classes, designed and managed summer camp programs, and collaborated with other professionals and volunteers to provide individualized instruction and interventions for people with developmental disabilities. These experiences have enhanced my communication, volunteering, and time management skills, as well as my mental health advocacy. As a Tennessee transplant living in the Midwest, I enjoy exploring new places and cultures, and I am always eager to learn and grow as a professional and as a person.
