I aid honors students in their transition to college life by planning relevant events, aiding in orientation week, and meeting with students one on one.

In this role, I am continuing my project started as a Summer Undergraduate Research in Environmental Health Fellow.

I received a grant from the NIH to conduct an independent research project Under Dr. Yiannikouris as a research fellow. My work focused on exploring the relationship of obesity and hypertension in context of the renin- angiotensin system with hopes of identifying novel treatment strategies. I used cell culture, imaging techniques, western blot, Elisa, and RT-qPCR to understand the effect of nicotine and obesity on hypertension and the renin angiotensin system. This work was presented at an Summer Undergraduate Research Poster session.

I aided a graduate student in his studies about the ecological and evolutionary response of Drosophila Melanogaster to genetic pest control strategies. I managed populations of PCR, conducted PCR, and collected weights.

This was a temporary Covid-19 related position in which I did created and executed activities with residents in a long-term care facility during the period in which visitors were not allowed. My goal was to aid residents and stuff during this period of social isolation by boosting morale and providing support to the care team as needed.
