Responsibilities vary day to day, with tasks ranging from weeding, planting, or turning beds, to tool maintenance--anything the garden needs to remain healthy. We manage various compost piles, and determine what changes or additions need to be made for proper functioning of the compost. We also harvest and track output of food from the garden, before bringing it to the food bank on campus, where it is distributed to UCSB students. We work to implement best practices of sustainable agriculture, and spread knowledge and passion of sustainable ag via volunteer days and outreach events!

My main responsibility is keeping climbers safe! I communicate closely with visitors, monitoring their climber safety including proper use of equipment, maintenance of gear, and correct climbing practices. I lead tours of the facility and instruct climbers across all experience levels. I also set climbing routes, and love the challenge of setting up climbs that are creative and require a bit of problem solving.
