Currently I am enrolled in the 2 year Human Resources Management Program at Durham College. I have plans to complete additional courses to work towards getting my CHRP. I have graduated from the 911 Emergency and Call Centre Communications program, earning certificates and awards for the following;Bilingual certificate,Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps, Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention, First Aid and CPR Certification, Mental Health and First Aid, Customer Service Training,Information and Communications Standards,Design of Public Spaces Standards, Employment Standards. OHRC Human Rights Certification, Learning Diversity Certificate, and Ontario Council of Agencies Working with Immigrant Communities Certificate. Both programs have given me the skills needed to be successful in HR; I am comfortable with Microsoft programs, specifically excel, and both courses have developed my skills as a problem solver, and communicator.I have worked at CAA for the last 4 years as an emergency roadside dispatcher, where I have been able to hone my active listening and effective communication, skills that will benefit me going forward towards a career in Human Resources. During my time with CAA I have taken courses to continue building my knowledge- courses like excel, solving conflict under pressure, and several customer service skills building courses. Taking these courses allowed me to not only gain new skills, but it also gave me an appreciation for training and development within a business, this drove me to seek a career in Human Resources.I hope to continue building my knowledge and skills so that I can pass my knowledge on and help to enhance any company I work for through training and development.
