Supporting individuals who are homeless, struggle with addictions and/or mental illness in various areas throughout Main Street Project, which include the Intoxicated Persons Detention Area, Male & Female Detox Centre, Drop in and Emergency Shelter, Van Outreach & the Bell Hotel. I provide support and assist with clients’ basic needs, while ensuring they have an opportunity to make real choices and have meaningful progress, each and every day. In all areas I have to establish a good rapport with outside agencies, e.g. Police, Paramedics, Detox Centers, Elder etc. I am required to do the proper documentation, whether that be an “incident report”, “shift updates”, or put together a binder for a new client in detox, then log it into “HIFIS”. This job requires you to be aware of your surroundings at all times and problem solve quickly in the case of an incident
