Profile bio

About Katelyn Du

I am a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of San Diego majoring in Business Analytics and minoring in Chemistry and Accounting. Through going through programs in data analysis with Accenture, PWC, and Google, I have discovered a love for working with numbers in order to find business solutions. Currently, I am working on obtaining my Google Data Analytics certification.I am originally from the Bay Area and have been surrounded by technology, medicine, and business all my life. I originally came to university as a pre-medicine student, as I enjoyed the idea of being able to create solutions from what seems like nothing to the naked eye. I recently learned that I enjoyed being able to do this but through data. However, my medical and science experiences have provided me with analytical skills that may not be able to be developed elsewhere. I have also gained insights in cross cultural communications and empathy. Previously, I never took notice to the importance of data and numbers in the whole life of a business but through experiences, I have discovered how much can be learned from data. I am looking for opportunities where I can learn how to extract information and utilize what can be learned to allow educated decisions and recommendations to be made.

Worked at the golf course clubhouse front desk checking customers in and booking tee times for customers. I also addressed concerns by contacting different teams that worked on the course to receive solutions as the clubhouse acted as a central hub for employees and golfers to go through. Communicated heavily with golfers about course conditions, policies, and solutions for common issues on the course. Worked across teams to ensure smooth operations at the golf course. In addition, I took the initiative to inspect pace of play and golf course conditions throughout shifts and communicate them back to the clubhouse. I also often went out onto the course to address issues with golf carts, between other players, and the course. I exemplified customer service skills by working to resolve the many issues that arose every day and by building relationships with customers as many golfers become regulars at courses.
