I am a First year student at Heriot-Watt University studying accountancy and finance. I aspire to be a chartered accountant and work for a professional service firm. I discovered my passion for accounting in high school, somewhat organically. We had to choose several subjects to study but unfortunately the way the school timetable was organised I was unable to to take the subjects I wanted. Therefore I was moved into national 5 accounting, at first I was disappointed with the situation however, I then realised my love of accounting and from here went on to sit my higher accounting exam and then applied for university and was accepted.
