I'm deeply passionate about craft and business. After having run my own craft business for 14 years, I now work with others - from indies to global brands - helping them be the best they can be. I'm driven by making a difference, increasing sales and visibility, and helping others achieve financial independence doing what they love. After gaining a BA(Hons) in European Studies with French & Spanish, I spent the first 11 years of my career in the TV & Film Industry; working in Marketing for Universal Pictures and up to Director level at Production & Branding Agencies.I launched The Makery in 2009 with a mission to teach as many people a new creative skill as possible. From day one, I wanted to build a brand that resonated with a mainstream audience, making craft accessible to the masses. The Makery taught well over 150,000 people in our creative events and workshops. I signed a licensing deal with Wild & Wolf in 2013 and created a range of branded merchandise which was stocked internationally. I then struck a deal with John Lewis in 2015 and ran a London-based branch in John Lewis Oxford Street. I have also written two books published by Octopus; Makery and Makery Sewing.We are now a team of 40+ wonderful creative experts, who host creative workshops and events for brands and businesses nationwide. Our clients include Google, John Lewis, W Hotels, Cricut, Soho House, Monsoon, The Crafty Kit Co., Wool Couture and Anthropologie to name a few.
