Oversee two residential buildings and rotate on-call responsibilities for the 500+ boarding student population. Collaborate daily with a variety of stakeholders such as parents, campus safety, academic/arts teachers and school counselors to promote the holistic development and social/emotional well-being of each student. I also supervise six professional staff and advise several groups of student leaders.

Led all aspects of six different 4-week long community-service based programs with 13 students ages 14-18 during seven summers. Worked with students to implement a summer camp experience for up to 90 local children/day in each local community. Planned itinerary, mediated conflicts, managed all student records and finances. Emphasized the importance of experiential education, service learning and cultural integration.

Provided programmatic support to 30-35 college students studying/living abroad at a residential field station during month-long and semester programs, academic credit was awarded through Boston University. Implemented a comprehensive orientation and helped students adjust to life abroad. Managed student safety/discipline and completed risk assessments for all fieldwork, camping/field trips and serve as the on-site medical authority. Fostered positive group dynamics among the student group and facilitated community building initiatives such as daily meetings, bi-weekly activity nights and cultural reflection sessions. Responsible for hiring, training and helping supervise four Waterfront Assistants/Research Interns.

Instructed four different lesson plans for middle school students during 4-day long visits at a residential Outdoor Education Center sponsored by the Houston Independent School District. Taught social science, history, team-building and environmental studies concepts with a hands-on/experiential curriculum. Responsible for managing a cabin group of up to 14 diverse female students during meals, evening activities and overnight.

Directly oversaw a deck of 73 students and promoted community, upheld standards and provided resources/referrals aboard a “floating university” study abroad program on a passenger ship traveling to 13 countries during the Spring 2009 semester. Responded to crisis situations and served in an on-call duty rotation for the 800 passenger shipboard community. Managed a collateral area assignment of Social Programming; served as the advisor of the Programming and Events Committee and contributed to the development of co-curricular programs.
