Consistently processed exoplanet transit spectra are essential to studies of comparative planetology. The EXoplanet CALIbration and Bayesian Unified Retrieval (EXCALIBUR) pipeline performs uniform data reduction of exoplanet transit observations. While EXCALIBUR fully automates the data reduction process, it has traditionally relied on humans to evaluate the quality of its data products. Manually assessing data product quality is time-intensive and infeasible for large datasets. As more transit observations, exoplanet targets, and missions are added to EXCALIBUR, there is a growing need for the automated validation of data products. I designed and implemented a system of algorithms that flag the data quality of products throughout the EXCALIBUR pipeline, providing the validation infrastructure necessary for EXCALIBUR's growth.
  • Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory
    Planetary Interiors & Geophysics Intern
Nasa Jet Propulsion Laboratory Jun 2022 - May 2023

The Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionospheric Sounding (MARSIS) is a multi-frequency synthetic aperture radar sounder on board the Mars Express Orbiter. MARSIS has been collecting data about the surface and subsurface of Mars since 2005. A new algorithm was developed to estimate and correct for the Martian ionosphere's distortion of radar signals. Using this algorithm, I generated the new optimized version of the MARSIS data archive for delivery to NASA's Planetary Data System.

The Tropospheric Ozone Monitoring Instrument (TROPOMI) produces nitrogen dioxide measurements that, when combined with oversampling methods, can resolve between-neighborhood gradients in air pollution distributions. While TROPOMI observations are freely available, there are major barriers to their access, including the need for high-level technical training, computational resources, and scientific expertise, making the TROPOMI dataset virtually inaccessible to environmental justice communities and the general public. I created interactive maps to present the connections between satellite measurements of air quality and socioeconomic injustice in major U.S. cities.
  • Ibss
    Software Development Intern
    Ibss Jul 2020 - Aug 2020
    Silver Spring, Maryland, Us
I created a dynamically-updating client feedback form using data from the IBSS Salesforce environment. Then, I developed a system to create custom objects from form responses within a client’s file in Salesforce.
  • Smithsonian Institution, National Air And Space Museum
    Volunteer
Smithsonian Institution, National Air And Space Museum Jul 2018 - Mar 2020
    Washington, Dc, Us
On weekends, I volunteered at the Discovery Stations in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. I engaged visitors in hands-on activities relating to planetary geology, aerodynamics, human spaceflight, and museum exhibitions.
  • Reach For Uganda
    Volunteer
Reach For Uganda Jun 2019 - Jul 2019
    Arlington, Virginia, Us
REACH for Uganda is a nonprofit that operates out of both Arlington, Virginia and Bududa, Uganda. It partners with communities in rural Uganda to carry out initiatives for education, healthcare, and more. I traveled to Uganda as a volunteer, representing the nonprofit's Arlington office in schools, clinics, and the U.S. Embassy in Kampala.
