Award-winning, highly motivated public health leader with over 20 years progressive experience in food systems, non-profit leadership, strategic planning, health promotion, grant writing and public relations. Graduate of the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems at University of California, Santa Cruz. As San Diego Unified School District's first Wellness Program Supervisor, I designed and launched an initiative to support the health and wellbeing of more than 100,000 students and 15,000 employees. Previously, I worked for five years at University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine directing School Wellness Programs with the California Department of Public Health on behalf of San Diego County Health & Human Service Agency. I serve on the California Local School Wellness Collaborative Steering Committee, and co-chair the San Diego County Childhood Obesity Initiative's School & After-School Domain. I founded the virtual network Rad Women the Food Movement, and served on the Board of Directors for both Slow Food Urban San Diego and Les Dames d'Escoffier-San Diego. I graduated with honors from Bucknell University with degrees in Human Service Systems-Sociology and Theatre. I also hold certifications in Fundraising Management, Indigenous Permaculture Design and Nonprofit Management.
