I teach humanities from an interdisciplinary approach that introduces my students to arts, philosophy, religion, politics and social events in cultural context.Courses Introduction to Humanities This is a non-chronological course that introduces students to the Humanities and the Arts. Emphasis is placed on appreciation. Students develop the tools necessary to analyze and appreciate masterworks from diverse cultures and time periods.Classical HumanitiesThe course focuses upon Western culture in its attempt to interpret human experience and identity. The course examines basic human values as exemplified in the arts, philosophy and history. Emphasis is on the Greeks, the Romans, and the Judeo-Christian tradition up to the end of the Middle Ages.American Humanities This course examines ideas and values about the American experience in the 20th century by analyzing the literature, art, music, philosophy and history of the past 100 years. The course draws upon the arts of African American, Native American, Asian American, Anglo and Latino cultures as avenues for understanding issues of race, ethnicity, class, and gender as they intersect with mainstream American values in the past 100 years.

Coordinated student directed campaigns. Represented student interests with university staff and faculty at regional and national student conferences, and with government legislators. Performed administrative tasks including managing press releases, staff, and coordinating office functions. Ensured compliance with association regulations, university protocols, & formal meeting procedures. Ensured ongoing fiscal accountability of association funding.

Resolved delinquent accounts and performed collections. Negotiated all contract change orders. Defined and managed event scope, pre-production milestones, internal and external meetings, logistics, creative and production elements, budget and on-site execution. Technical sales support and consultation in the full breath of construction. Maintained superior customer follow-ups to keep customers informed and expand sales with existing accounts. Coordinated post project debriefings and final bill reviews with clients.

Responsible for control and support of internal sales activity for the region. Handled inbound and outbound telephone sales, technical inquiries, counter sales, dispatching and stores management. Processed sales, stock and factory orders. Liaised with local and regional suppliers.

Coordinated student awareness campaigns. Consulted with university disabilities office to provide appropriate and more inclusive services for students with disabilities on campus. Implemented and directed the new position of LGBTI coordinator to provide a representative for the national student organization. Represented student interests with university staff and faculty, at regional and national student conferences and with government legislators.

Educated new faculty members on the specific needs of diverse student populations and the appropriate ways to facilitate their learning in the university environment. Lobbied universities and government for specific policies to enhance students learning experiences. Maintained channels of communication effective in bringing our staff views to the attention of key government authorities and education institutions that affect the course of legislation. Monitored significant legislation through personal contact with legislators, legislative reports, and committee meetings. Identified priority issues requiring legislative input by our staff.
