The Toll Group is the Asian region's leading provider of integrated logistics services.I planned and developed internal and external communications and assist with the preparation of content for “across business” tender proposals. I lead the migration of the organisation’s intranet, managing the migration plan, mapping new content, coordinating business stakeholders, and overseeing the preparation and editing of content onto the new intranet. I also developed an eLearning program to up-skill and educate a geographically disparate workforce on key service information for the sales and support team, and I coordinated and maintained a documents standards library products and services.

Dubbed by Australian Gourmet Traveller as “the thinking person’s grocer”, animal vegetable mineral was an online grocery service delivering sustainable, organic, local or ethical groceries and meal kits throughout the Sydney metropolitan region. I founded and grew this business from my blog, “get real” and social media.

As a consultant to Postie Plus Group Limited, I conducted a carrier neutral assessment and business case on supply chain and route to market across four operating companies for New Zealand retailer Postie Plus Group Limited. I identified immediately realisable savings of 20% to the operating surplus, reduction of stockholding and capital costs, and improved service to market. As the Interim General Manager of Stila Australia, reporting to private equity owner Sun Capital Partners, I managed the commercial operations for body care brand Arnaud Australia, with responsibility for cash flow, P&L, vendor management, communications and branding, sales and marketing, online retailing, and back end activities, I implemented a new financial and inventory system, created the platform for an online store, identified inventory anomalies on the balance sheet and developed a revised sales and operational budget.As a consultant to the Smiths Snackfood Company I conducted a cost to serve analysis of the supply chain network to support the strategy to address the primary freight demands of retail customers. Creating cost models and cost analysis our team provided a number of supply chain scenarios to the client.As a consultant to Coles Myer Limited I facilitated the tender process and created the evaluation criteria and cost model for 3PL outsourcing and the development of a greenfield DC.

In this role, I managed the national transport contracts for Australia’s largest supermarket chain. I developed standard operating procedures for secondary distribution activities, conducted supplier performance reviews and formed part of the contract negotiation team. During this time, I was responsible for negotiating and managing fuel surcharges in a period of bowser price volatility. In collaboration with the corporate counsel, I designed pro forma contractual terms and conditions, streamlining all service level agreements for transport. I was engaged by in-house counsel to develop a training program relating to the Trade Practices Act responsibilities for transport rate negotiators. I also developed and implemented a supplier database that delivered improved identification and on-going management of supplier relationships.

I was an athlete for the Australian Sailing Team campaigning for the 2004 Athens Olympic games in the Yngling Class. It was an experience of a lifetime!During this time I contributed a monthly article for Australian Sailing Magazine, documenting the trials and tribulations of an Olympic sailing campaign.
