After working with children and teens in the fields of social work and education for more than a decade, I was drawn into the world of digital media by a company developing a neighborhood, events-based app and online community. Working in digital media for the past seven years, I have had the opportunity to make use of the outreach, teaching and facilitation skills I developed as a social worker and educator, while pursuing my lifelong interest in writing. I have taken on the roles of writer and community manager, working primarily in the areas of arts and entertainment, travel and leisure, and health. I have successfully conducted in-depth research, online and in-person outreach, as well as numerous interviews on which I have based articles. Though I am currently focused on writing, with my background in community management, I have the skills to not only create compelling content, but turn online consumers into active members of a community who ultimately become influencers themselves.
