As clinical lead and RPS for the charity practice my responsibilities included: clinical audits, clinical incident management, drug management within a budget, handling VMD inspections, local protocol creation and maintenance and the leadership and mentoring of four other veterinarians.

I returned to the fast-pace charity clinic for high-reward work with greater responsibility of mentoring new graduate vets, organising the team and further development of my surgical skills including orthopaedic procedures.

Providing a high standard of both customer service for owners, and clinical care for small animals in need, in a fast-paced environment with regular periods of sole charge. This crucially involves engaging with pet owners to increase knowledge and understanding of their pets needs to optimise their well-being.I was promoted to this role in January 2018 after 6 months of employment as a Graduate Veterinary Surgeon.

Working efficiently yet empathetically to provide a high standard of veterinary care for small animals in need as well as helping to educate pet owners and the public as to the needs and best care for pets. The clinic sees a wide range of medical and surgical cases at a rapid pace, this experience alongside the mentoring provided to me as part of the PDSA graduate scheme, helped me to develop and grow my veterinary skills quickly and to feel comfortable with regular sole charge.

Providing exceptional customer service to a vast array of different attendees, each with their own specific requirements, and providing a positive, proactive attitude to tackling a variety of different tasks enabling the delivery of high quality events.

Whilst working within a busy small animal veterinary practice and adjoining cattery my roles included; handling and restraining a range of small animal patients, assisting during procedures and surgery, maintaining a hygienic, organised environment and management of the cattery at weekends.

Being solely responsible for the cattery at weekends, my role included: routine cleaning and upkeep of the cattery environment, regularly handling cats of all temperaments and providing each with their daily requirements including any medication if necessary and caring for any wildlife that was being temporarily housed by the veterinary practice.
