• Organising and attending community forums which included arranging suitable venues, ensuring the agendas were prepared and agreed and previous actions had been completed.• Meeting with individual residents to discuss specific issues and impacts. I would often attend these meetings with a technical expert to ensure that all questions could be answered. However, there were often times where the engineers briefed me prior to meetings • Recording details of all meetings and engagement with the community on CRM software. • Attending consultation events to explain environmental and engineering aspects of the proposals as well as providing information on property and consultation queries. • In preparation for the consultation events I was required to present to internal teams on the London route issues who would also attend the events but may have limited knowledge of specific areas. • I monitored feedback and responses from consultations to identify any repeating issues and passing them to relevant teams so they could start to address them where necessary.
Transport Stakeholder Executive
• Liaising with TfL to create and deliver presentations to local residents who lived near to venues on LOCOG’s traffic management proposals and plans. • Working closely with Local Authorities to discuss traffic management plans and co-ordinate communications messages.• Providing the correct information to the internal team who created the parking permits.• Organised and attended drop-in sessions for local residents and businesses to ask individual questions regarding the impact the venues may have on them. • Provided information for local authority and community newsletters.• Worked with housing associations to communicate to residents who were likely to be significantly impacted. • As well as preparing communications materials around specific venues, I also provided communications to residents who lived close to road cycling events. As well as public roads, the events also affected some private roads so separate meetings were required to address separate concerns.• A community relations hotline was set up for residents who experienced difficulties during the test events. In preparation of the Games I took part in a an exercise to test communications from the control centre to the staff who were working at venues, check points and other government and non-government agencies to ensure the smooth running of the events. This was an exciting operation to be part of and provided me with experience of working on a large scale event.
