The JAMA Network encompasses JAMA and the nine specialty journals published here. My responsibilities include maintaining the editorial content and quality of the JAMAevidence website -- www.jamaevidence.com -- and the three books it showcases: "The Rational Clinical Examination," "Users' Guides to the Medical Literature," and "Care at the Close of Life." I also manage podcast and video schedules for the journals, assist on various editorial projects, and help coordinate the Peer Review Congress, hosted by JAMA and the BMJ.

As a freelance editor, I have worked extensively with BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, a California-based chain with locations throughout the U.S.This ongoing partnership involves frequent, thorough, and fast proofreading of food and drink menus, point-of-sale pieces, table tents, and other marketing and advertising materials produced by BJ's.BJ's reported zero typos in this year's menu rollout thanks to the diligent proofreading services provided.

Every year, DePaul University -- the largest Catholic university in the U.S. -- asks me to proofread its Guide to Student Housing as well as any ancillary pieces produced, such as the two-part Guide to Moving In and the University Center Guide to Student Housing.This successful partnership is predicated on my ability to ensure that DePaul will have the marked-up manuscripts and layouts on time and within budget.

As a senior editor at Krames StayWell, I provide editorial consultation to clients -- typically hospitals and managed care companies -- to ensure their publications are engaging, informative, and in line with their marketing objectives and overall mission.

As a complement to my full-time position at StayWell, I contribute articles to the Custom Publishing Division of the "San Francisco Chronicle."I've served as a primary content provider for key publications such as "Prom 2008," two editions of "Modern Bridal," "National Pet Week," "Holiday Pet Guide," "Interiors," "How-to Guide," and the award-winning "Prom 2007."In addition to writing and researching articles, I brainstorm topics with writers on-staff at the Chronicle and locate the appropriate experts to interview.

At Kaplan, I taught intermediate- and beginning-level English to international students. Helping students hone their communication skills and knowledge of English grammar in turn helped me as an editor. I learned a lot about effective communication and the nuances of language -- both musts in the professional world, and particularly in the publishing field.

"North American Carp Angler" is the quarterly magazine of the Carp Anglers Group (CAG), a nonprofit organization for avid anglers. With the help of a board member, I published the magazine for two years, taking on editing, proofreading, and design responsibilities, as well as ensuring the issue made it to our printer and distributer on time.

While in graduate school, I interned for the Editorial department at Pohly & Partners for a semester. My experiences included: • Writing copy for "Continental," the in-flight magazine of Continental Airlines. • Extensive fact checking and article research for custom publications covering a broad range of subjects, including travel destinations, debt collecting, and marketing and communications.

I interned for the Publicity Department at Da Capo Press, an imprint of Perseus Books Group, for one semester while in grad school. My responsibilities included:• Overseeing galley and advance-review-copy mailings.• Crafting press releases and booking author interviews.
