Director, Library And Media Center
Interim Library Director
As Interim Library Director, I lead twenty-eight staff and over seventy-five student workers. Main responsibilities include oversight for financial, program, and operations management; organizational design and development; strategic planning; marketing and communications planning; and liaising with administration, policymakers and local and regional advocacy and funding organizations. Other responsibilities include my role as the principal investigator for the State University of New York (SUNY) grant-funded project, the Open SUNY Textbooks program, an open-access textbook publishing initiative funding the development and publication of twenty-five open educational resources, authored by SUNY faculty. In addition, SUNY Geneseo’s Milne Library serves as the administrative body for the national IDS Project – a resource sharing cooperative consortium which develops standards, best practices and provides research and development solutions for the library resource sharing community. The IDS Project’s Executive Director directly reports to my office and I serve on the IDS Project’s governing council, which includes IDS Project members and regional library resource sharing groups.
Head, Technical Services And Collection Development
My main responsibilities are to oversee and manage collection development activities in Milne Library, including budget preparation and maintenance, policy planning, providing collection assessment and evaluation, and serving as chair to the Collection Development Team. I work closely with faculty, staff and administrators to target needs, acquire materials and manage the acquisitions process. I also serve as a member of the library’s management team and liaison from Geneseo to the SUNY Comprehensive Colleges Cooperative Collection Development group. Other core tasks include restructuring department workflow, supervising staff, creating new user request systems, managing budgets and licenses and implementing new procedures. I also provide general reference service at our library’s Reference desk and assist with student research consultations.

My main responsibilities were to provide general reference service at our library information desk and assist with student research consultations. I taught several course-integrated library instruction classes per semester for various academic departments, including technology classes such as Adobe InDesign. I was the manager of library website development, overseeing the web design and maintenance of three library web projects: the Milne Library website, the Information Delivery Services (IDS) project website, and the Friends of Milne Library website. In this capacity, I was the chair of the library web development advisory team and web content subcommittee. My other duties included liaison work with the Communication Department and reference collection development for English, Communication, American Studies and Film Studies.
