About Kate Pitrone

I left Columbia University, degree incomplete, two papers to finish, in 1976. I finished those papers, mailed them, and heard nothing. I raised and homeschooled six children over the next twenty-five years. In 2002, I returned to Columbia, completing my degree so I could teach in a small private Christian school for which I had written the humanities curriculum in its founding period. There I taught both world and American history, government, economics, English literature and composition. In 2006, I took a part-time job teaching English, the Freshman Composition course, which includes literature and writing, at Lakeland Community College.My master's degree is in American History and Government from Ashland University. I am interested in teaching subjects related to those topics in the future.Specialties: Teaching, Writing
