I am a teacher, a journalist and a researcher.Western Carolina University has been my home since 2010 and its my first full time teaching position. I teach reporting classes, international/global media, travel writing, professional development classes... My teaching philosophy is to be a coach and let my students learn through doing and practice what they are learning. I have the privilege of working with students, guide them, edit, evaluate and improve their ideas and stories – as a coach and editor. Take a look at some of their work at The Western Carolina Journalist.I worked as a reporter and editor for 14 years in Macedonia in variety of media outlets in print, radio and online. I also collaborated and worked on various investigative projects in Macedonia and the Balkans. I served as a country coordinator for SCOOP & South East Europe Investigative Reporters from 2005 to 2008. I am going back to my journalistic rots and starting to dip my toes again as a reporter and writer. My research interests are in journalism and media development in Southeastern Europe with focus on states from former Yugoslavia.
