I have spent the last 5 years working on several luxury yachts in the Caribbean, the USA, and theMediterranean. I managed the day-to-day operations on these vessels, making sure that the guests hadeverything they needed to make their holidays truly memorable. This involved provisioning, supervising junior staff, managing budgets and accounts, and dealing with suppliers.I dealt with guests from all over the world, who were paying a lot to be on the yacht and who expectedsuperlative customer service. There was no room for error and so planning and organization had to be done right the first time.I project managed a major refit of the interior of the vessel (an Italian designed and builtAzimut Grande 35 meter super yacht retail for upwards of $13m so you don’t want to be makingmistakes). They also paid for me to take the Master of Yachts certification so I could take control of theyacht if something happened to the captain.I gained experience in event planning, project management, team leading, procurement, logistics,safety, customer service, communications, travel arrangements, supplier relationships and problemsolving.
