In this capacity, I launched MEI's arts and culture program which developed into a center featuring an art gallery of rotating exhibitions of contemporary Middle Eastern art and photography. The Center has hosted hundreds of panel talks on the role of art in society, hosted literature festivals, put on performances of musicians at major venues, partnered with international arts organizations including the Arab World Institute, the British Institute, the Goethe Institute and more. The Center has brought in large gifts to run cultural exchanges and has partnered with Gulf institutions to highlight the Gulf's vibrant arts sector.

I was responsible for managing MEI’s programming and communications departments, as well as its stable of 40 adjunct scholars. In that capacity, I programmed hundreds of talks, panels and half and full-day conferences focusing on the Middle East; I built and developed MEI’s roster of adjunct scholars, increasing their output of publications and policy analyses; doubled MEI’s media exposure through increased press coverage of events and scholars; developed key relationships to enhance MEI’s visibility and reach. Later in 2012, I helped launch MEI's policy center, overseeing the hiring of policy experts, an editor, and onboarding dozens of contributing writers. During that period, I fundraised for the organization, securing the largest gift in MEI’s history from an overseas donor, among other contributions.

I produced and reported segments on Middle East issues from the rise of the Shiites in Iraq to the success of Islamist parties in Egypt's recent elections.

I reported and produced half-hour documentaries on Middle East topics for Frontline/World.

I produced long format TV segments on national issues for broadcast on public television.
