Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is an acute hospital trust providing healthcare services across three sites in Buckinghamshire. The Trust is one of only twelve specialist spinal centres in the country.In this role I led a team of five to oversee the monitoring and reporting of the Trust's financial efficiency, transformation and quality improvement programmes. Reporting into the Director of Finance, my main responsibilities included:• Working with Divisional leadership teams and clinicians to identify opportunities for efficiencies within the organisation, translating ideas into deliverable project plans• Producing a variety of reports for different forums, including Executive Management Committee, Finance & Business Performance Committees and NHS Improvement, the Trust’s Regulators• Chairing weekly Cost Improvement Plan (CIP) Oversight Group meetings to challenge workstream leads on scheme development and delivery progressMy main achievements included:• Designing and recruiting to a new PMO function within the Trust and building the reputation of the team within the Trust• Determining and implementing new governance arrangements for the tracking and escalation of schemes within the programmes• Supporting the Trust to identify £8m of efficiency schemes

Monitor (now NHS Improvement) is the NHS regulator.As a relationship manager for a portfolio of NHS foundation trusts in the North, I was responsible for determining and delivering a regulatory approach based on each organisation's performance against a range of financial, governance and quality indicators. The role involved challenging Trust Boards on their performance and often delivering difficult messages while maintaining good working relationships. I managed relationships with key stakeholders (NHS England, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Care Quality Commission), working with them to determine effective strategies to deal with emerging issues, and producing reports with robust analysis for Monitor's Board and sub-committees to drive decision making.

In this role I was responsible for determining and maintaining the resourcing and development needs of the Provider Regulation directorate (200 people). This involved working closely and negotiating with senior personnel across Monitor to ensure the directorate had the right level of resource and development requirements were being met. I ran Assessment Centre events, and worked closely with HR to manage recruitment processes into the directorate.I oversaw development projects, including a redesign of the induction and on-boarding process for new joiners and redevelopment of the performance management and objective setting process for the directorate.

I oversaw a portfolio of 11 foundation trusts, proactively monitoring their compliance against a range of financial and governance risk indicators and escalating issues as identified.I was selected as part of a small team to assist in preparing the CEO for an appearance in front of the Public Accounts Committee.

I conducted and project managed complex due diligence assessments of NHS trusts applying for foundation trust status across multi-disciplinary teams. This involved undertaking detailed analysis of financial viability and governance structures of applicant trusts and providing robust reports for Monitor's Board to drive decision making.

I carried out financial analysis and governance work on foundation trust applications and assisted in the preparation of due diligence report.

As a Consultant within the Human Capital department, I advised on HR elements of transactions and organisational change.

I completed my Chartered Accountancy qualification over three years in the Consumer Products assurance department. My main clients included British Airways, McDonald's, Exel Logistics, Dairy Crest and Londonlines.
